Things that will help you get a review:

• sending vinyl if available (this is the only way to guarantee a review)
• making sure it’s a style of music we cover

Things that will not help you get a review:

• sending non-full art/cardboard sleeve promos (they’re a lot easier to lose and generally kind of annoying)
• sending styles we simply don’t cover (no, we don’t write about jazz, despite what some publicists might think…)
• including way too much in the package (don’t send us a folder or a huge print out of every magazine you’ve ever been in… if you do, we probably won’t cover your submission on principle alone, plus it’s really wasteful - a folder means no review, period)
• don’t email any MP3s ever
