That steady, wistful-sounding, droning, therapeutic cocoon that feels so good in which to wrap one’s ears. The resonating finger-picking over a constant, quick bass line. It’s all there. Rest Stops & Roadmaps is a legitimate, enjoyable musical attempt rather than the proverbial “same old thing.” Perhaps this can be a bit formulaic, but formulas are around because they work.
